Therapy Services
"Even as kids reach adolescence, they need more than ever for us to watch over them. Adolescence is not about letting go. It’s about hanging on during a very bumpy ride."
Ron Taffel
As a Chartered Counselling Psychologist with extensive experience supporting individuals and families, I offer tailored psychological therapy and consultancy for adolescents (11-18), adults, and parents. Below you can find further details of the therapy services I offer.

Approaches used with young people include:
- Talking therapy and integrative counselling
- Play and creative therapies
- Narrative and story-based interventions
- Psychoeducation and emotional regulation work
My work is always collaborative and underpinned by safeguarding principles. I ensure young people understand their right to confidentiality and choice, while also balancing safety and transparency.
Therapy for Teenagers and Young People (11-18)
Adolescence is a critical and often challenging stage of life. It marks the journey from childhood to adulthood, a time filled with emotional intensity, identity exploration, and a growing need for autonomy. Teenagers often face difficulties related to:
- Friendships and peer relationships
- Family transitions such as divorce or bereavement
- School-related pressures (e.g., academic stress, bullying, transitions)
- Identity, self-esteem, and future aspirations
- Emotional regulation and mental health (e.g., anxiety, low mood, self-harm)
- Gender identity, sexuality, and neurodivergence
Therapy can offer young people a confidential and empathetic space to process their experiences. I work creatively and flexibly with young clients, integrating talking therapy with art, play, or story-based methods, depending on their age, interests, and needs.
The initial assessment phase may include:
- A session with the parent/carer
- A session with the adolescent
- Joint or individual sessions as appropriate
Following this, we will agree on the most suitable therapeutic approach, which may include ongoing individual therapy, parenting support, or, if needed, referrals to family therapy or other services.
Therapy for Adults
Adults come to therapy for a wide range of reasons, often at points of transition, crisis, or when longstanding issues become overwhelming. My work with adult clients is grounded in creating a safe, non-judgemental space to explore:
- Anxiety, depression and stress
- Relationship difficulties (past and present)
- Identity and self-esteem
- Work-life balance and burnout
- Grief, loss, and life transitions
- Trauma, childhood experiences, and attachment patterns
- Gender identity, sexuality, and neurodivergence
Using an integrative model, I draw from psychodynamic, humanistic, cognitive-behavioural, and relational approaches. Our work together can help you understand the roots of your difficulties, build emotional resilience, and explore more fulfilling ways of relating to yourself and others.
Each therapeutic journey is unique, and sessions are tailored to your needs, preferences, and pace.

Parenting Consultancy
Parenting can be deeply rewarding—and at times, overwhelming. Many parents come to consultancy feeling stuck or unsure how to move forward. Whether the early journey into parenthood was marked by challenges like fertility issues, difficult pregnancies, or family stress, or you're navigating present-day struggles, parent consultancy offers a space to pause and think.
Parenting consultancy is not therapy. Rather, it offers a reflective space to explore your parenting journey and values. With my background in child and adolescent mental health, I support you to:
- Understand your child’s behaviour through a developmental lens
- Reflect on your own experiences of being parented
- Identify parenting strengths and areas for growth
- Work through co-parenting dynamics or family transitions
- Clarify your hopes and intentions for family life
We may discuss:
- The emotional impact of conception, pregnancy, or birth experiences
- Your sense of identity as a parent
- How past experiences shape current family dynamics
- Strategies for handling conflict or emotional dysregulation
This work can be particularly helpful if you:
- Feel stuck or overwhelmed in your parenting role
- Are navigating difficult phases (e.g., adolescence, separation, loss)
- Want to better understand or support your child’s emotional world
Parenting consultancy offers space to pause, reflect, and realign with your values and goals as a parent.
